Moccasins and Chambray - Manhattan College

We'd like to officially welcome a new Campus Sartorialist contributor, James Breen, who will be showing us what campus style is like at Manhattan College.
James is a recent graduate of Manhattan College where he got a degree in Chemical Engineering.  He will be finishing off his Master's thesis this fall and then he'll be starting law school Fall of 2013. How does a chemical engineer, future lawyer get in to fashion one would ask? Well James has no idea but if you do, he'd love to hear! While he firmly believe that it is what's on the inside that is most important, it would be ignorant to pretend that what you wear has no effect on one's life. His fashion philosophy is simple: find what fits, find what you love, and find it cheap. Being so close to the Mecca of the fashion world, New York City, the styles of Manhattan College are changing constantly and are always on the cutting edge of what will hit big next, it's a microcosm of the fashion world.  While he hopes his passion for photography and style have an influence on his campus, he is sure that they have an impact on him.
Here's James' first post:

Red Tunic - Professor Spinelli - SCAD

Savannah, Georgia is the home of southern hospitality, the Head of the South Regatta and most importantly the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), one of the country's leading educational hubs for Art, Fashion and their associated branches.

We are happy to have Mangue Banzima, an image consultant and blogger that spends his time between New York and Savannah, join our Campus Sartorialists team for the SCAD campus in Savannah. Check out Banzima's blog Qui Style for more street style photography from Savannah.

Campus Sartorialist in the Press

Campus Sartorialist has gotten a lot of publicity and hits these past few days and we'd like to acknowledge and thank the two online publications that featured us.

First off, The Huffington Post - College, with whom we've started a long-term collaboration, featured us and a photo of Stephanie on the front page earlier this month.

Second to feature us was Lizzie Crocker, a reporter from The Daily Beast and you can find her interview here.

Mullet Dress - Kiah - Colorado State University

We'd like to welcome our newest contributor, Jules Davies, a senior at Colorado State University. I met Jules while we were both interns at Zero+Maria Cornejo last summer in NYC and her cute and unique personality and sense of style can be seen in her photography and hopefully in the CSU photos to come.

The Mullet Dress, also known as a lohi or hilo, short in the front and long in the back,  has been a rising trend on the runway and in print (Vogue Paris September 2012). We love this geometric print incarnation of the mullet dress and it definitely helps accentuate Kiah's legs.

Winged Gold - Harvard University

Photographed on the Widener steps, a modern interpretation of the messenger god Hermes. Shaved hair, red lipstick and  a simple yet fitting black dress, just stunning.

Great balance between horizontal and vertical stripes, we really dig the comfortable fit of the chambray shirt.
